With the property in Jarnac, we also bought a retail space on the ground floor. Approx. 85 m2 with basement, we have been contemplating our options ever since signing the compromis de vente.
For the time being, having our hands full with renovating our space first, we decided to lease out the space.
It's a raw space, no renos done to it in a while, which is a plus really for anyone who will take the space. A blank canvas sort of, suitable for so many applications.
Given the time and of course money, we did think of opening a GF venue of some sort. A Cafe with all gluten free baked goods, or as Jarnac seems to shut down at 8pm, a late night bar with snacks.
But we decided against all the day to day options and if the space does not rent by the fall, we have another idea.
So, time will tell. We are open to ideas, input and even a partnership for the right concept.
